Manchester United and Southampton took the upper hand in their respective EFL Cup semi-finals and, as usual, social media was a hive of activity after the full-time whistles had sounded.
Goals from Juan Mata and Marouane Fellaini gave United a 2-0 first-leg victory over Hull City on Tuesday, while Nathan Redmond was the Saints' match-winner against Liverpool on Wednesday.
United's win was their ninth in succession, 15th match without defeat, and it was a result that took them to within 90 minutes of a Wembley final.
Southampton's advantage is slender, but it's an advantage.
The 1-0 result means the Saints still haven't conceded in the EFL Cup this term, and one more clean sheet would take them to Wembley for the final.
The EFL Cup semi-final second legs take place on Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th January.
